Neshoba County native Jenifer Branning is a candidate for the Mississippi Supreme Court in the central district. She worked her first job during high school at the famous Williams Brothers general store in Philadelphia and has been working hard serving her community since that time. An honors graduate of Leake Academy and Mississippi State University with a B. A. in Business Administration, she also attended the M.B.A. program at Mississippi State University.

Jenifer had the privilege of clerking for the Mississippi Secretary of State, Division of Business Regulation and Enforcement in 2003-2004. Since graduating law school from Mississippi College School of Law in 2004, she has been serving clients all over Mississippi through her private law practice located in Philadelphia.

Jenifer has also served as a State Senator for the 18th district since 2016, which encompasses all of Neshoba and parts of Leake and Winston counties. Currently in her third term in the Senate, she serves as Chair of the Highways and Transportation committee and Vice-Chair of Government Structure Committee.

In previous years, she served as Chair of the Elections committee, Vice-Chair of the Forestry Committee, and as Chair of various Appropriations sub-committees. She has also served on the Mississippi Prepaid College Tuition Board, the Mississippi Women’s Task Force and the Southern Legislative Conference committee on Economic Development, Transportation and Cultural Affairs.

She received the Friend of Transportation Award from the Mississippi Department of Transportation in 2024, the Friend of Agriculture Award from Farm Bureau in 2021, the 2019 Legislator of the Year by the Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Commission, and named the 2018 Legislator of the Year by the Mississippi Forestry Association.

Through her service in the Senate, Jenifer has a proven conservative record as evidenced by her top legislative priorities of promoting an environment to encourage job creation and economic development, while protecting our God-given fundamental rights. Her greatest accomplishment is being the mother of three boys - Ethan age 20, Ellis age 18 and Evan age 12.

Jenifer and her husband, Chancy, place top priority on faith and family life and are very active in their church and community. The election for Mississippi Supreme Court will be held on November 5.
